Outing

It has been two months! Long time no see peeps!

I’m actually having my leave now. So I shall spend this little time updating my blog. As requested by some ‘people’. Alright, let me see where I shall start.

Anyway I came back from MSTD like last week? (FYI MSTD – Midshipmen Sea Training Deployment) It lasted for 6 weeks, I’m not involved in the training, but it was more of an experiential trip for me. So that I’m better prepared for my upcoming MSTD which will be around July/August? I visited Bangladesh, Malaysia and Thailand. See lots of things, learn lots of things, changed my perception on certain things. Want to know more just ask me la~ I’m more than gladly to share it with you. When I came back to Singapore, my course officer asked the batch to apply leave from Thursday to Saturday. That’s why you’re seeing me here, blogging this entry *smiles*

Anyway I met up with my secondary school classmates last night. The last meeting was like last year December during my block leave if memories serve me right. Things are pretty normal and the same I guess, well, that’s good! Apparently they have this BFF thingy, and it took me quite a while to realize there’s such thing exists. Probably my situation awareness is not that ‘up’ yet.

A group photo after dinner~

Photo with Bangladesh's Naval Officers.

AH~ that's all for now. I don't want spend too much time on the blog. Anyway the reason why I only post the photo with the Bangladesh Navy is because, I only attended the cocktail reception at Bangladesh. For Malaysia and Thailand, I did not get the chance to interact with the navy. Meeting my other gang of friends tonight. Apparently they are all having attachments, part-time, and camps to the extent that they are available during dinner time...

Happy Lunar New Year

To all my family and friends,

I would like to wish everyone,

新年快乐
年年有餘
龍馬精神
恭喜發財

:D:D:D:D:D

Don't know chinese character? Too bad, I'm lazy to translate.

[back to topic]

It has been long since I had a relatively decent entry. Alright, shall start with sharing abit of information about my health! I’m currently pestered by 2 superb big ulcers underneath my tongue. As a result, I cannot consume my meals properly! I also have dark eye rings, due to insufficient sleep and rest in. Oh well~ that’s MIDS for you. Although there’s not much training, but even if there is, it’s not physical, but it’s mentally demanding.

Slipping off in other few days time. Physical condition and packing wise, it’s ready. Personally I think the trip will be fun (although the first destination is Bangladesh, which is such a turnoff) but I’m not mentally prepared. Simply because it’s the first time I going out for so long. I’m so filled with anxiety and uncertainty. 6 weeks sounds kind of short, but hey! I’m living at a totally different environment, no land around me! I’m so going to miss my family, my friends, and of course Singapore! Basically I’m going to miss everything!

Alright! So people out there who doesn’t know any pieces of shit I just mentioned above, for their information, I shall just announce it here. I’ll be out of Singapore for 6 weeks, from 31st Jan to 14th March. Programme that I’m going through is classified. So can’t tell much. Anything that you all want to contact me about, just kindly send it to my email. If you don’t know my email (you can go and die!), it’s sierra.square@hotmail.com.

Once again, Happy Chinese New Year to all my Chinese friends, and to those non-chinese peers, a happy holidays and long weekend for you!

Regular

I signed my name on that piece of paper, on that particular dotted line. I sacrifice my freedom in exchange of others, because I love my family, my friends, and my home.

It’s going to be a tough year ahead, especially with a strict and demanding instructor. I’ll need to endure sleepless nights, to complete reading my notes and précis. I must be motivated as to see the final outcome, which hopefully, is this coming December, at the parade square.

1st Day of 2009

First of all, Happy New Year people! It’s 2009 and I hope everyone is at the pink of health! Anyway, I went for the countdown and the fireworks were fabulous, well, maybe it’s nice because I seldom see it.

I have been posted to delta wing for my common leadership module, and the good thing is, it’s coming to an end, this Sunday, and I shall be posting to mids wing next week. I spent my birthday inside camp, without anyone celebrating with me *sadddd* but thanks to those people who send birthday wishes through sms. I’m grateful and really lighten my ‘training load’ in camp. Once again, thanks a lot, and I’m sure you know who you all are, no need to mention here.

Resolution 2009:

Get myself successfully commissioned as a Naval Officer.
Shall try my very best to make full use of my time.

A vision is a clear picture of a preffered future where you can picture yourself accomplish a clear purpose. It's good having a vision, it helps in priortising, but it takes great effort to achieve it. Work hard people!

BMT POP!

From my Digital letterbox:
siling congats! how can u blog something else when u are always in the camp n ur life now is abt army??

I guess she’s right! I’m back here to update about my POP which is yesterday! I didn’t get a chance to take a lot of photos, but nevermind, will have other chances, but definitely not BMT!

I had a shot taken with the VIP, School 1 CO, OC, 2IC, and several other Gryphon awardees. Well, it’s kind of wasted that my parents got the grandstand tickets but they were led to the common area for my graduation parade thanks to some careless ushers. Anyway the awardees from all the company , along with their parents, were given the privilege to board the first fastcraft back to mainland, how cool can it be? But I miss the enjoying moments with my platoonmates…

Finally I can rest for 12 days or so now! Posting result will be release on the 19th and I’ll have to report to camp on the 22nd, meaning most likely {actually it's somehow confirmed} I’ll be celebrating my birthday in camp. Oh well~ Nevertheless, I had activities planned out during this few days of break. Hope I can had fun and enough rest because my military life has just started…

I’m seriously disappointed and disgusted by some sore losers. I’m the best only because I did better compare to the second placing for my situational test? I treated the war games seriously and tried to tackle the mission in my own way and ended up people call me a wayang king? Sick of senseless comments and stop the stupid jealousy!

Don't Run Away...

We got a bad, bad habit of saying
"Everything's fine" and bottling it up.

Your thoughts determine your feelings,
and your feelings determine the way you solve problems.

Your feeling about a situation may not be accurate,
and alters your ability to solve the problems.

Think of a problem as solvable,
be realistic about your assessment,
and you were likely to succeed.

Updates about myself:

  1. Currently having sore throat and cough.
  2. Going into 6th weeks of BMT.
  3. Miss family and friends.

Be Thankful

Wondering why I suddenly blogged at the middle of the night? Well, apparently I had some coffee and can't get to sleep! While chatting with friends, I received this email from someone... I find it meaningful. So I decided to blog it. Here it goes~

A blind boy sat on the steps of a building with a hat by his feet.
He held up a sign which said: 'I am blind, please help.'
There were only a few coins in the hat.
A man was walking by.
He took a few coins from his pocket and dropped them into the hat.
He then took the sign, turned it around, and wrote some words.
He put the sign back so that everyone who walked by would see the new words.

Soon the hat began to fill up.
A lot more people were giving money to the blind boy.
That afternoon the man who had changed the sign came to see how things were..
The boy recognized his footsteps and asked, 'Were you the one who changed my sign this morning?
What did you write?'
The man said, 'I only wrote the truth. I said what you said but in a different way.'
What he had written was: 'Today is a beautiful day and I cannot see it.'

Do you think the first sign and the second sign were saying the same thing?
Of course both signs told people the boy was blind.
But the first sign simply said the boy was blind.
The second sign told people they were so lucky that they were not blind.
Should we be surprised that the second sign was more effective?
Moral of the Story: Be thankful for what you have. Be creative. Be innovative. Think differently and positively.

Invite others towards good with wisdom.

Live life with no excuse and love with no regrets.

When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1000 reasons to smile.

Face your past without regret.

Handle your present with confidence.

Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear.

Great men say, 'Life has to be an incessant process of repair and reconstruction, of discarding evil and developing goodness…. In the journey of life, if you want to travel without fear, you must have the ticket of a good conscience.'

The most beautiful thing is to see a person smiling…
And even more beautiful is, knowing that you are the reason behind it!!!
